Different people have different ways of looking at things. What is acceptable to one person wouldn't necessarily be acceptable to others. Ego is something that stops one from doing anything beyond the boundaries of their mind-sets. If they see anything going beyond that, it gets really difficult for them to accept it.
Ego is a strong barrier that one creates between themselves and the world, which allows only those things that the person finds apt for them, to take an entry inside. People with Ego feel that they are being offended even when it’s not the case.
Ego basically deals with two sides within us i.e., the instinct and the rational. The instinct demands without a second thought and the rational part allows only what is reasonable. Ego is the mediator between these two. It’s the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.
