Multi-tasking means performing more than one task at a time.
Multi-tasking is a concept from computation and microprocessors. It is a concept popularised by the computer world. Multi-tasking differentiates humans and computers. A computer can perform many activities simultaneously and switch from one activity to other resuming it from exactly where it was left earlier.
Multi-tasking is good for computers because they are meant to do that.Human multi-tasking is assumed to be a desired trait. Especially in the corporate world, multi-tasking managers are considered more efficient. The youngsters of Generation Net want to be more and more efficient at multi-tasking. We see students texting, surfing the Web, listening to music, and so on while attending a lecture, or working on homework.
Can handwriting analysis reveal whether a person is good at multi tasking?
Before we find out from our handwriting whether we are good at multi-tasking, we should first know what the behavioral experts say about multi-tasking. Is multi-tasking a good trait to have?
David Meyer, a cognitive scientist at the University of Michigan, says that: "When you perform multiple tasks that each require some of the same channels of processing, conflicts will arise between the tasks, and you're going to have to pick and choose which task you're going to focus on and devote a channel of processing to it."
Human brain works on tasks in a linear way so it is not made for working on many things simultaneously. It can take only one intellectual task at a time. Of course it can do non-intellectual tasks at the same time. Chewing a gum and walking at the same time- as David Meyer explains it.
According to Karin Foerde, Barbara J. Knowlton, and Russell Poldrack, multi tasking in learning is not effective at all, as compared to single learning activity.
Is multi-tasking not a desired or efficient trait then?
I suggest that multi-tasking can still be effective if you understand where to use it and where not to use it.
Some activities can be performed by the brain in a simultaneous way but some activities when clubbed together will be affected due to continuous partial attention. The attention given to the task and the cognitive learning will be superficial in most of the cases.

Connecting the crossbar of t to the previous or next letter shows the habit of multi-tasking.
But these methods of connecting the t cross bar show counter productive and qualitatively less efficient multi-tasking.
Genuine multi tasking ability is said to exist if the only t cross bar connections seen in the handwriting are for two consecutive t's whenever they appear in the writing.
So change the way you do multi-tasking by changing the way you write. You will be genuinely efficient at your work.
